After founding the first privately-owned adult day care in the northeast in 1990, Beth and Sandy Berinstein recognized a need for homemaking, companion, and personal care services in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Since starting BESA Companions and Homemakers in 2002, they have worked closely with over 750 clients to provide quality care in Bloomfield and surrounding communities.

As a Connecticut state contracted provider, BESA conducts regular background checks of all staff through state and federal systems.

BESA’s services include homemaking, companion, and personal care assistance; all services are available in the Hartford, West Hartford, and Bloomfield areas.

BESA accepts longterm care insurance policies, Medicaid, and private payment. Appointment schedules are tailored to meet the needs of each client.

Homemaking

Homemaking services may include vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, bathroom care, making beds, changing linens, cleaning kitchen, washing dishes, cleaning refrigerator, laundry, meal planning and preparation, and shopping.

Companion Care

Companion services may include supervision of daily activities, reminder for self-administered medication, escort to recreational activities, accompaniment to appointments, assistance with phone calls and communications, accompaniment on walks, conversation, reading, and more.

Personal Care

Personal care may include help with bathing, dressing, eating and feeding, grooming, mobility, walking, and bathroom assistance, in addition to homemaking and companion care services.
